In the first of a set of weekly playlists, Chloë Moloney gives us an insight into the music which has had an effect on both her mood and mental health this week.
BY CHLOE MOLONEY
Music has proven to be such a determining factor in how my mood is affected on a day-to-day basis, having developed such a fervent attachment to the songs which filter through my everyday life. Having mentioned in a previous piece that I often find myself in cycles of music and memories, I have coupled this with a newfound desire to use the relationship between music and mental health as an experiment to explore mood and state. This week has been one of firsts, in tackling that challenge head on and cleansing my musical palette.
In these playlists, I want to share with you a snippet of what tunes have affected my mood this week. I hope that a song or two might bring you some joy in these trying times.
Lost in Paris – Tom Misch
Sail Away – David Gray
When You’re Gone – Bryan Adams ft. Melanie C
Run – Stephen Fretwell
I have only plucked a handful of songs from the musical abyss this week, however there is a Spotify playlist for a comprehensive list of all the tunes floating around my head.
Happy listening!
