the wyrd sisters are an idea in a scholar's head. fate is the main idea of the play and the language should reflect that, he says. the sisters whisper from the ether: we are not an idea. we are witches.
the weird sisters have not forgotten their previous incarnations. it is true they are wyrd; fate. and yet they are wayward; they will not be hunted down and classified and analyzed. words are their magic, and their words are powerful.
